General Summary:  An outside salesperson will be responsible for; increasing revenue through the promotion of our innovative brand deliverables, sales of warehouse products, service contracts, and maintenance solutions to prospective and existing customers utilizing material handling equipment.  These solutions are specific to each customer and include, but not limited to, selling Fleet Studies & Audits, Service Contracts for both Raymond and competitive lift truck equipment, high tech industrial automation equipment, and other specifically defined material handling products and services. Maintaining our leadership position in process improvement within the customer’s facilities. Providing solutions that increase efficiency and reducing the cost of customer fleet operations utilizing numerous cost savings strategies. 

 

The day to day duties of customer satisfaction at existing customers, is NOT part of this sales function. Another segment of the team is responsible for daily activities, allowing our outside sales team the freedom to focus strictly on commissionable activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primarily performs sales calls on all prospective and existing accounts within a designated territory.
  • Regularly visits all existing accounts to sell products and services that support requirements to improve customer fleet operations.
  • Promotes brand image and promise through Fleet Study Audit and Fleet Management deliverables.
  • Enters data, interprets results, and delivers final Fleet Study and Fleet Audit to prospective customers as sold.
  • Meets or exceeds sales objective for adding new accounts.
  • Meets or exceeds sales objective for designated product sales.
  • Provides written customer proposals/quotations as required.
  • Increases customer base and units under service at existing accounts while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Develops and maintains designated Recon Red territorial data base of equipment in order to properly develop sales prospects, prospect contact details, and track sale progress for new prospects.
  • Actively pursues SM and CFPM contracts on new and Renewed units after the point of equipment installation.
  • Utilizes all Marketing tools to analyze customer operations and recommend improvements.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency of software products, including Microsoft Word, Excel and CRM Software.
  • Knowledge of material handling service operations and solutions.   
  • Skilled in relating to customer and prospects with empathy, creativity, and flexibility.
  • Skilled in time-management and able to work independently.          
  • Skilled in managing customer relations with multi-level sales abilities and a consultative approach.        
  • Strong presentation skills as well as written and oral communications within all levels of an organization both internally & externally.
  • Ability to analyze situations and provide solutions based on customer needs.              
  • Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work.
  • Ability to exercise attention to detail, follow-up, and follow through.              
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and reasoning.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with various types of personalities and authority within an organization.
  • Ability to persuade others as well as be resilient and persistent if sale not closed initially.
  • Ability/Desire to continually enhance knowledge, skills and abilities.

Education and Experience

  • This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 3-5 years of prior Sales experience in material handling industry. 
  • Incumbent must possess a valid and good driving record as defined in the Company’s Motor Vehicle Program. 
  • This position requires considerable local travel daily and occasional overnight travel primarily for training.
