General Summary:  This position is responsible for the maintaining, and light facility maintenance of the branch. The Shop Apprentice works with a variety of internal departments as well as external customers in coordinating the receiving and distribution of products. The Shop Apprentice must work hand in hand with the Warehouse Supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Exhibits a professional demeanor and promotes goodwill between the company and customers by providing a superior level of customer service.
  • Dates, signs, and forwards all completed packing slips to proper persons.
  • Receives equipment and puts in proper place within shop utilizing company’s bar coding system.
  • Preparing equipment for shipping. Palletizing/strapping batteries, etc.
  • Maintains clean shipping/receiving area as well as keeps entire shop/parts area swept and clean.
  • Waters and cycle charges batteries in rental and demo trucks as well as other company assets as needed.
  • Ensures proper damage assessments and notes according to procedure for all company assets received into building.
  • Organizes scrap batteries and works with rental department to ensure proper disposal or sale of the same.
  • Ensures Rental Quality Assurance Program is employed on all company assets leaving building.
  • Follows safety rules and ensures that hazardous waste is disposed of properly.
  • Responsible for keeping warehouse clean and organized, including hazardous waste disposal and light facility maintenance.
  • Checks supplier parts packing slips, confirms receipt of product in good condition, and inputs into Irium.
  • Presses tires for customers / technicians as needed.
  • Assists in pulling/shipping core and warranty returns back to Raymond.
  • Pick parts and supplies to fulfill customer and technician orders.
  • Ship orders via shipping carrier processing standards.
  • Local parts delivery to technicians and or service consignments as requested.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.


  • Knowledge of Microsoft office products, internal Irium system.
  • Ability to match, sort and collate information as well as organize data.
  • Skilled in customer relations by exchanging information with courtesy and consideration.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with all levels of an organization internally and externally.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or demonstrated instructions.
  • Ability to maintain a good understanding of industry innovations and product availability in order to make recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Ability to safely operate drills, grinders, presses, forklifts, and personal hand tools.
  • Ability to draw upon available support resources from within the company and recognize when it is appropriate to do such.
  • Ability to understand how equipment is set up for shipments, label, logged and counted.
  • Ability to multi-task, and attention to detail.       
  • Such other knowledge, skills, and abilities as are necessary in connection with additionally assigned duties.



  • A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED equivalent is required along with a minimum of six months practical skills
