General Summary:  Oversee the daily operations of the Field Service Department to ensure opportunities for profitability and growth are maximized.  The Technical Services Manager is responsible for the management of Field Service Managers and Quality Assurance Personnel to assist in the achievement of departmental goals. 


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hires and supervises Field Service Management and QA Staff as required to meet the demands of daily business
  • Responsible for the training, development and performance management of assigned Mangers and Technical Support Positions.
  • Monitors productivity of assigned Managers and Technical Support positions to achieve departmental goals.
  • Implements technician policies and procedures, and assists reporting Managers with enforcing disciplinary action as needed.
  • Monitors Technician Certification Training and quality inspection processes to satisfy organizational requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Evaluates monthly performance summaries utilizing Technician Scorecards and various reports depicting WIP, scheduled maintenance monthly completion, revenue by technician and lost time.
  • Ensures 100% completion of required workloads by working with all areas of aftermarket operations.
  • Ensures the technical resources responsible for iWarehouse installation and implementations are up to speed with the latest training and are provided with the necessary tools to perform this task.
  • Manages special projects related to the improvement of our Field Service Department as assigned by Service and Parts Manager.
  • Visits customer locations as required.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, internal ERP system.
  • Knowledge of material handling service operations and P&L.  
  • Skilled in time-management and able to work independently.
  • Skilled in employee management and development.
  • Skilled in both written and oral communications within all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
  • Ability to lead and motivate.          
  • Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work, and attention to detail.  
  • Ability to apply sound judgment and reasoning.         

  Education and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. 
  • Management experience in material handling or similar industry is preferred. 
  • Incumbent should have strong management skills and strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills. 
  • A strong orientation to detail, organization, and ability to delegate is necessary
