Overview

The Business Systems Support Specialist – Technical’s primary responsibility is to provide business system technical help desk support.  Creates, evaluates and tests new procedures and program updates. Creates support material for training and leads train-the-trainer classes. This position serves as backup for the Business Systems Specialist Support - Contracts as necessary.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Lead role in troubleshooting, testing new patches, software upgrades, and creating the support documentation to aid in training.
  2. Use SQL to query database as an aid in solving issues.
  3. Creates, evaluates/tests, and documents procedures.
  4. Responsible for employee help desk for business systems.
  5. Serves as technical liaison between employees and software providers.
  6. Responsible business system train-the-trainer training and authoring updates of business system instruction manuals.
  7. Designs and conducts train-the-trainer courses, programs, and relevant material to meet company and employee requirements.
  8. Travels to branches to conduct scheduled train-the-trainer training sessions when required.
  9. Provides support for IT issues and assists with other tasks or projects when required.
  10. Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Qualifications

  1. Working knowledge of enterprise-wide business systems.
  2. Proficient in Microsoft Office products and personal computer operation.
  3. SQL query syntax knowledge.
  4. Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) and negotiate with all levels of an organization internally and externally.
  5. Ability to serve as an individual member of work team.
  6. Ability to exhibit a professional demeanor and deliver excellent customer service skills.
  7. Exhibit sound analytical troubleshooting skills.
  8. Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented and self-motivated.

 

Education and Experience: This position requires a minimum of at least 3 years prior experience working with business enterprise systems and a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  College degree preferred.  Experience in developing training materials is required. SQL query syntax knowledge required. Incumbent must be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Excel and Outlook.  SharePoint, Access, PowerPoint and Word preferred.
