    General Summary: 

    To assist Service Manager in the profitability and growth of Service Department.  The Field Service Manager is responsible for the profitability and management of a set number of Field Service Technicians, and Team Leaders to assist in the achievement of departmental goals. 

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Hires and supervises Field Service Technicians determined by budget, market, and department demands.
    • Ensures the quality of our technician and technical resources by conducting field inspections and soliciting customer feedback.
    • Measures the productivity of Field Service Technicians and adjusts schedules accordingly in order to achieve forecasted revenue.
    • Ensures 100% completion of required workloads by working with all areas of aftermarket operations.
    • Implements technician policies and procedures, conducts performance reviews, and enforces disciplinary action as needed.
    • Works with Customer Care Manager and Accounts Receivable on customer credits for work order discrepancies.         
    • Prepares and reviews monthly performance summaries depicting scheduled maintenance completion, revenue by technician and lost time.  
    • Visits customer locations to develop and maintain relationships.
    • Performs new hire training on Field Service Technician procedures.
    • Work with Sales and Customer Care Managers to increase customer base and maintain continued satisfaction of existing customers.
    • Ensures accurate and timely new truck installations at customer facilities.
    • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, internal ERP system.
    • Knowledge of material handling service operations and P&L.
    • Skilled in time-management and able to work independently.
    • Skilled in employee management and development.       
    • Skilled in both written and oral communications within all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
    • Ability to lead and motivate.
    • Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work, and attention to detail.    
    • Ability to apply sound judgment and reasoning.       

    Education/Experience:

    • A minimum of a High School Diploma/GED required
    • Post-secondary education in Hydraulics, Electrical or Mechanical is highly preferred  
    • A minimum of 5 years of related experience in material handling industry required
    • Incumbent must have excellent management skills and strong communication, leadership, and customer services skills. 
    • Must possess valid and good driving record.
