  • Overview

    General Summary:  Responsible for managing the profitability and growth of the SE Division (Indianapolis, Ft. Wayne, and Bloomington, IL branch locations) Parts and Service Departments.  This function is responsible for forecasting and formulating a business plan to ensure achievement of departmental goals.  The position supervises all Parts and Service personnel and works with and other departments as needed in order to secure additional business.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Develops annual budget and business plan for the SE Division parts and service operations.
    2. Hires, trains, manages, and directs the daily activities of SE Division Parts and Service departmental employees.
    3. Responsible for the efficient operation of Dispatchers and Parts personnel to aid in technician performance.
    4. Oversees Quality Assurance and Warranty departments to maximize technician training and warranty accuracy.
    5. Reviews existing and expiring van fleet and technician additions to assess additional van leases needed.
    6. Approves all credits on work orders and vendor invoices.  
    7. Manages main warehouse and remote parts inventories.
    8. Visits customer locations to develop and maintain relationships.
    9. Supervises Field Service Managers to achieve maximum technician efficiency.
    10. Works with all members of Parts Department to increase inventory turns as outlined in annual business plan
    11. Develops marketing plans and pricing variations for key customers in conjunction with Sales Mgrs. & Fleet Support Specialists.
    12. Meets or exceeds aftermarket sales objective for shop work.
    13. Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.


    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, internal ERP system.
    2. Knowledge of material handling service operations and P&L.
    3. Skilled in time-management and able to work independently.
    4. Skilled in employee management and development.
    5. Skilled in both written and oral communications within all levels of an organization both internally and externally.
    6. Ability to perform research to make sound decisions.
    7. Ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work, and attention to detail.
    8. Ability to apply sound judgment and reasoning.


    Education and Experience This position requires a minimum of an Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree in Business Management preferred.  A minimum of 5 years of related experience in material handling industry is required.  Incumbent should have strong management skills and strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.  A strong orientation to detail, organization, and ability to delegate is necessary.
